I’m creating this gofundme for my relative Kami Shirvani, a loving husband and new father, who has been diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Kami and his wife had just welcomed their first baby boy in September 2023.

After celebrating the holidays, Kami was set to see a cardiologist for chest pain and received the unfortunate news that his pain was Stage 3 Lung cancer. This diagnosis has not only brought their joy of new parenthood to a halt but also placed Kami at the forefront of a critical battle for his health. Kami is now facing an aggressive treatment plan that includes chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, and surgical intervention. His wife, a nurse, had just taken her full maternity leave and when it was time for her to return to work they were devastated by this news. She has been his sole caregiver taking leave from work again. Nothing in life prepares you to hear that your loved one has cancer. Unfortunately, the financial burden is overwhelming, especially considering that medical insurance will not cover the entire cost of the necessary treatments.
