Help Kameron Bring Therapy to Underserved Populations

Hello! My name is Kameron Jones, and I’m an Occupational Therapy student at Georgia State University, passionate about making a difference in the lives of underserved populations. As the SOTA President at Georgia State, I’ve been accepted into an incredible study abroad opportunity in Kolkata, India. We will be focusing on cross-cultural occupational therapy perspectives, psychosocial health, and well-being for at-risk, underserved, and marginalized populations. https://www.studyabroad.gsu.edu/index.cfm?FuseAction=Programs.ViewProgramAngular&id=22364
This program will allow me to work alongside professionals, learning to support individuals facing challenges like mental health concerns, physical disabilities, and limited healthcare access. I’ll gain hands-on experience in diverse settings and see firsthand how cultural contexts impact health, well-being, and therapy practices. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will not only enrich my understanding and skills but also enable me to bring new insights and empathy to my future practice.
I’m raising funds to cover travel expenses, program fees, accommodations, and supplies to take with me to support the communities we’ll serve. Your contribution, big or small, will help me take this important step in my education and career.
Thank you for supporting my journey to become a culturally aware and effective occupational therapist for those who need it most!
