Dear friends, family, and all who love Kamalla,

Over the past year, so many of you have shown extraordinary kindness and generosity toward Kamalla. When she was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer in early 2025, this beautiful community stepped in and helped carry her through an incredibly difficult time with love, prayers, and tangible support.

For clarity and transparency, we are starting a new fundraiser as Kamalla enters a new and more uncertain chapter in her cancer journey, and we wanted to share an honest update about where things stand and why renewed support is needed at this time.

Because of you, last year $43,321 was raised, and it truly helped sustain Kamalla- Those funds helped cover treatments, supportive and integrative care, and everyday living expenses so she could focus on her health and wellbeing without the constant stress of financial pressure. Your support did more than help. It quite literally helped keep her going and gave her the stability needed to continue treatment and living. There are no words big enough for what this has meant.

After completing 12 rounds of chemotherapy and extensive holistic therapies, we received the hopeful news of “no visible tumors” on her October scans. In less than three months, the cancer returned both locally and in metastatic areas, revealing just how relentless and aggressive it is. While there are still many medical steps ahead, including surgeries and ongoing decisions about treatment, the reality is that we are now in a much more uncertain chapter. At this stage, we truly do not know how much time lies ahead and are taking each step as it comes while supporting her as fully as possible.

Kamalla has continued forward with remarkable strength and grace. She remains the same warm, loving, and deeply kind person so many know. Her spirit, zest for life, and incredible positivity continue to shine through even in the face of ongoing and deeply painful challenges. She is the most devoted wife to her loving husband, Ky of more than 30 years, the most wonderful mother and step-mama, and most cherished Nana. Her presence continues to touch everyone around her.

With this progression has come renewed financial strain. Ongoing treatments, upcoming surgery, medications, and the everyday costs of living continue to add up. Reopening this fundraiser is simply about helping keep Kamalla supported in the most practical and immediate ways, so her energy can go toward her health, comfort, and quality of life rather than financial worry.

• Groceries and keeping nourishing food on the table

• Maintaining a stable home and basic living needs

• Gas, appointments, and everyday expenses
