In 2019 I met this incredible human. Her charm is what got my attention and then she spoke of how she's on a mission to change the stigma of women in Nepal. She didn't want to get married and have kids in her teens, she wants to get an education, take the world through the Himalayas and finally summit Everest so she can be one of the youngest female trekking guides to summit Everest.

Kamala is a 21 year old ambitious mountaineer. If you watch the video attached you will see her charm and ambition.

She comes from a remote village in Nepal called Batase and has been a trekking guide in the Himalayas for a number of years now. She is currently studying at uni in Kathmandu.

Her trekking job is what pays for her education however due to covid, trekking stopped and the trails stayed closed for 18 months.

Just before covid hit, Kamala completed her first ice training at the Kumbu training centre in the Himalayas which is a requirement if you want to summit Everest. But still needs to complete another course before attempting the summit. This opportunity will open a massive door for Kamala where she will have the chance to train to be a guide to the summit. She has done Base camp and other mountains for a number of years now, but now she wants to conquer Everest.

Due to there being no work, she hasn't been able to save any money to continue the training and the training starts in January 2022.

When I heard that she might not be able to do it because she couldn't afford it I knew that there was something we could do. The world fell in love with Kamala through my documentary. She's a star yet while I'm celebrating in Australia, she is frustrated in Nepal eager to trek again and the world is stopping her.

If you've been to Nepal, you would know that to save $2000 would take years with their income, yet with a little help from us, we can get her there by January.
