Everyone meet our warrior!
Kallum Dean Goodridge

Here is his story
In May kassandra found out she was pregnant with baby #2. Genetic testing was done in July which flagged for the possibility of 22q deletion syndrome. Two growth scans were preformed showing some potential problems with his heart. They originally found a small hole in his heart and also a bicuspid valve so they were sent to Dayton Children’s for an echo. The echo confirmed these as well as his aorta arch being narrow, so they wanted a follow up echo. At the follow up echo, a more serious problem was found. It appeared that the veins from his lungs were not connected to his heart they were going to his liver instead. At that point they were told they needed to go to Cincinnati Children’s for additional testing.. Cincinnati Children’s started the process for her to give birth in Cincinnati so Kal could receive surgery immediately after birth.
Once accepted to give birth at children’s, kassandra was having two to three appointments a week in Cincinnati for about a month leading up to his birth. (Which is an hr+ drive one way from her home) A MRI was completed to get a better look at his lungs to see if they were being affected and it did appear to be causing some problems. At that point a C-section was recommended so that baby kal could have immediate open heart surgery. After C-section was completed kal was prepped for his surgery, they repaired the arch as well as the veins. The surgery and getting him settled in recovery all took about 12 hours and then mom and dad were able to meet him. He’s been recovering and improving everyday. He’s had a few hiccups here and there but overall he is recovering and doing well so far. Although we are not out of the woods. And he still has a long journey ahead of him.

From mom and dad:
"We are so thankful for all the prayers and support. Kallum’s recovery is moving in the right direction so hopefully soon we will finally be able to hold him."

If you would like to help with gas, food and some of the bills, it would be very appreciated. It’s a lot of weight for one person to carry and dad has already gone back to work. A little extra could help give him a little more time with his little fighter. If you would like to send gift cards gas cards or food DM me for an adress.. if you would like to venmo send it directly to @kassandra_kessler
