Dear Friends and Family, Our beloved daughter, Kalisha recently confronted a life-threatening ordeal during a tragic shooting incident involving her best friend and her friend's brother. Both Kalisha and her best friend were shot by the brother. During the initial three days, Kalisha, while on life support, received a minimum of 100 units of blood transfusions. The bullet, upon impact, traversed through Kalisha’s upper extremities, leading to a series of at least nine surgeries, thus far, and very possible she will require more. Her surgeries so far included removing one of her kidneys, repairing holes in her aorta, and patching a nick in her liver. Unfortunately, to prevent the spread of infection and safeguard her life, a partial amputation of her leg below the knee was necessary. Her resilience throughout this harrowing experience has been nothing short of remarkable. We are incredibly grateful that she survived, but the road to recovery is long and challenging. Kalisha is a fighter, but she needs our support now more than ever. The medical expenses are daunting, and while we're doing everything we can, we know we can't do it alone.
