My name is Kalina, and music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I started learning piano almost 10 years ago, when I was just 5 years old. Since then, the piano has been my way of expressing joy, emotion, creativity, and passion. Today, I share that love on my YouTube channel, Kalina Music, where I post everything from classical pieces to pop, rock, and even K-pop covers.

Music makes me incredibly happy — and I want to keep growing, improving, and sharing that joy with you.

My First Piano — A Beautiful Family Treasure

I have been playing on a very special upright piano that belonged to my great-great grandfather. It is nearly 100 years old, and I am so grateful to have started my journey on such a meaningful instrument.

However, time has taken its toll.

Because of its age:

• It can no longer safely be tuned to the correct pitch (the strings could break).

• It only has 87 keys, while modern pianos have 88.

• The keys no longer respond properly.

• Fast and advanced pieces feel heavy and frustrating to play.

As I try to move forward with more demanding classical works and energetic modern songs, I feel limited. I practice hard, but sometimes it feels like I’ve reached the maximum of what this instrument can give me.

And that is a difficult feeling — because I know I can do more.

The Piano That Changed Everything

Last summer, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the C. Bechstein Centre Vienna.

There, I was kindly allowed to play on the most extraordinary instrument I have ever touched — the C. Bechstein A175 baby grand piano.

It was magical.

The sound was rich and warm. The keys responded perfectly. Every note felt alive. For the first time, I truly felt what it means to play without limits.

That piano is my dream.

But at over €55,000, it is far beyond what I can afford.

A More Realistic Dream

After searching for alternatives, I found a beautiful and more affordable option: the Kawai GL-10 E/P baby grand piano.

At around €10,000, it is still a big investment — but one that feels possible with help.

This piano would:

• Allow me to fully develop advanced technique

• Improve the sound quality of my recordings

• Help my YouTube channel reach a new level

• Motivate me to create even more music

Right now, my channel is not monetised, so I cannot rely on YouTube income. That’s why I decided to create this GoFundMe.
