Hi, my name is Stevie and I’m fundraising to help my dog Kalia recover after being seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Glasgow.

On Friday evening, Kalia my black Labrador was run over by a car. The driver stopped briefly, then chose to drive away.

This was not a minor incident.

A wheel went over her body.

Kalia has suffered severe injuries, including a pelvis fractured in multiple places and a displaced bladder that required emergency surgery. She is currently hospitalised, in pain, and undergoing ongoing treatment and recovery. The veterinary team has confirmed her injuries are fully consistent with being run over by a vehicle.

The total veterinary bill so far is between £6,000 and £8,000, and may increase as her recovery continues. This includes emergency treatment, surgery, hospitalisation, medication, and follow-up care.

We want to be completely transparent.

We previously opted out of pet insurance after a policy failed to pay out for a minor operation last year. Instead, we paid monthly into a dedicated Monzo savings pot specifically for veterinary care, alongside personal savings.

Between the vet fund and savings, we have already contributed approximately £2,500 toward the current bill. This fundraiser is to help bridge the remaining gap and ensure Kalia gets the care she needs to heal properly.

Every donation goes directly toward her surgery, care, and rehabilitation.
