Help Kali Heal: Her Story of Pain to Strength

Help for Kali

If you’ve ever met Kali, you know her as the one who lights up a room with her genuine happiness, love and enthusiasm — the friend who checks in when no one else does, the one who gives her all, even when she has little left. She’s the kind of person who makes life a little easier for everyone else. But now, Kali needs our help.
Kali became acutely ill on Friday, March 21st. For the next 5 days, she battled horrible symptoms from home whilst going in for IV hydration and electrolytes each day to combat the ensuing dehydration and electrolyte imbalances. On March 26th, Kali was rushed to the hospital and remained there until March 30th. After being released from the hospital, her health continued to decline. On April 7th, she underwent surgery — a painful and invasive procedure that required another hospital stay. The toll this has taken on her physically, emotionally, and financially has been overwhelming.
She’s now recovering at home, but it’s far from easy. Kali still battles severe pain, relentless nausea, and debilitating fatigue every single day. Basic tasks exhaust her. Sleep doesn’t come easily. Her body is in healing mode, but it’s a slow process — and in the meantime, life doesn’t pause.
Kali hasn’t been able to work for the past four weeks. She has a wonderful job with benefits of paid time off (PTO) and health insurance; however, she has run out of PTO time and the max out of pocket on health insurance costs is high. And like so many others in this country, she’s facing a painful reality: medical care saves lives, but it also creates crippling financial burdens. Her hospital stays, surgery, follow-up treatments, medications, and now, her regular bills — rent, groceries, utilities — are all piling up. She’s doing her best, but the stress is mounting.
This GoFundMe was created because Kali shouldn’t have to fight this battle on her own. She’s already doing the hard work of healing. What she needs now is some relief — and a little breathing room — so she can focus on getting better, without the constant fear of losing her home, her independence, or her peace of mind.
If you’re able, any contribution — no matter how small — would mean the world. If you’re not in a place to give financially, sharing this story helps more than you know.
Kali is strong. She is resilient. But even the strongest among us deserve support when life throws them more than they can carry alone.

Let’s show her that she’s not alone.
