My cat Kali has been with me for four years and is the first pet I’ve raised on my own. She’s been with me through every chapter of my life, and I’ve loved watching her become a gentle, loving mother to my two other cats. She’s truly the heart of my home.

Recently, Kali chewed through the fence of her cat patio and escaped. When I found her, her leg was numb. At the vet, I learned she suffered a severe pelvic fracture—an injury that won’t heal on its own and requires surgery. Without it, she may never be able to move her right leg again.

Kali is having part of her pelvis removed, and it will be replaced with a flexible metal plate. It’s a major surgery — and, unfortunately, it comes with a major price tag.

I’m 23 and live alone. Unfortunately, I had to get a loan to complete Kali’s surgery. I definitely did not second-guess getting her this surgery, but it has definitely taken me back a couple of steps. This fundraiser is solely for Kali’s surgery, medication, and recovery care. Kali is my family, my comfort, and my companion, and I want to give her every chance to heal.
