Kali is a bright, joyful little girl with a spirit that lights up every room. At just 3 years old, she suddenly lost the ability to walk. Now, as she approaches her 6th birthday this May, she has spent nearly half her life unable to move around on her own.
Since then, her mother, Joeneka, has carried her everywhere. She does it with love, but the physical and emotional toll has been overwhelming.
A motorized wheelchair would be life-changing for Kali. It would give her the freedom to move, explore, and experience the world with the independence every child deserves, while also easing some of the daily strain on her mom.
Kali has hip surgery scheduled in South Carolina this July, which makes getting proper mobility support even more urgent. Unfortunately, insurance has denied coverage for the wheelchair, even after appeals, leaving Joeneka to find a way to provide it herself.
At the same time, Joeneka is spending her days and nights in the hospital with her younger son, who is battling kidney failure. She is constantly going back and forth, exhausted but still doing everything she can to be there for both of her children.
Joeneka is not one to ask for help, but right now she truly needs it. Any donation will go toward helping Kali get the wheelchair she needs and deserves. If you are unable to give, sharing this would mean so much.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and for helping give Kali a chance at more independence.
