Help Kali cover the unexpected loss of Gucci

My dear friend Kali lost her beloved Quarter Horse Gucci unexpectedly in the early morning of Sunday, June 11, and I'm hoping to help her cover the unforseen expenses of his death.

In the two years I've been with friends with Kali, Gucci came up nearly every time we talked, and when I finally met him, and rode him, I understood just how special he was to her a: gentle soul and a steady presence.

Here's what Kali shared about Gucci:

Gucci was always there for me, and the part of this that is the most challenging is that I wasn’t there for him when he left. Gucci suddenly and unexpectedly started colicking on Saturday morning while I was at a wedding in Ohio. Most cases resolve with early veterinary intervention, so I thought everything would be ok. Around 4p.m., Gucci started going downhill and got more painkillers and several liters of fluid. And by 2 a.m., we had to say goodbye. There was too much pain through a lot of medication. My heart is broken.

Little Lord Gucci was my teammate, confidant, study buddy, and best friend for 14 years. He is one of the best things that life has given me. He taught me that the world is scary, but that we can be brave and face our fears. He gave me the confidence to shine because he sure did in the show ring. He taught me that love is slow, patient, forgiving, and built off of trust, consistency, and commitment. There are so many more things I wish we could have done together.

Veterinary costs for trying to save his life and unexpected flight changes to get back from the wedding have totaled to $2,952. Any and all amounts would help to defray the costs of this unexpected loss.
