Lifting Kaleena Up Again

Donation protected
Kaleena Saulters was in a critical car accident on the morning of March 3, 2019. She was driving home with her family when her truck lost control and flipped three times. As a result, she was rushed to Chicago University where she still remains in critical condition.  The accident caused her spine to detach from her pelvis, and as a result, she is currently struggling to regain feeling and movement in her extremities. She also suffered multiple broken ribs, a collapsed lung, a broken shoulder, a broken arm, and multiple head wounds. She has undergone multiple pelvic surgeries in four spots where screws and metal rods are now in place to reconnect her spine and pelvis.  She is in constant agony and pain as she lays in her hospital bed wondering when she will be able to walk again.

Anyone who has had the privilege of meeting or knowing Kaleena is immediately affected by her personality.  This woman embodies the word ‘selfless’ as she has sacrificed a great deal for her 7-year-old son and family through the years.  Kaleena has always approached life with a sense of joy and adventure and never fails to find the silver lining when times get tough. Even now, she remains hopeful in her heart.  Despite her optimism, she struggles each day without her son. She does not know what all of this means for their future, but she will not stop fighting to regain her strength. She is determined to make it through this tragedy.  All this being said, it’s now our turn to give back.  As you can imagine, the pain and stress this incident has caused her and her family is tremendous.  They all need help moving forward...

We are trying to raise money so Kaleena can continue receiving treatment towards a full recovery.  Unfortunately, she was in the process of switching jobs at the time of the accident. Consequently, she was uninsured.  We are hopeful, despite these circumstances, that she will be able to connect with an insurance company to help fund the rehabilitation/physical therapy process.  At that point, therapy will be the only thing standing in her way when it comes to seeing her son and resuming life as a mother.

At this point, she is still in the ICU without any insurance. In order for her to be qualified to enter a rehab facility, she must find the strength and will to stand on her own. Each passing day in the ICU brings medical expenses that would weigh on anyone’s soul.  With your donation, we can help her pay these accruing medical bills. Please keep Kaleena in your thoughts and prayers as she navigates through this tumultuous time.
