Hi friends, I'm Kal and I'm a 28 year old trans man in need of some assistance. I have been medically transitioning for a decade now and after 2 failed attempts at getting it in the past, I was approved for top surgery in June of this year. I have been scheduled for my procedure on December 19th, coincidentally 4 days before my next birthday. As excited as I am, I am scrambling to be prepared financially.

With my insurance I still am on the hook for $3500 in surgeon's fees and $2080 in facility fees which need to be paid 42 days before my surgery date. That's a total of $5580, a little less than my target goal, that will be due November 8th. While I am trying to save as much as possible, I also will be trying to save for the time I'll have to take off work while still paying my rent/bills.
