Help Kaiya Compete on the World Stage
Donation protected
The road to the Olympics is a hard one. The vast majority of US Olympians
are saddled with crippling debt trying to obtain the Olympic dream. Unlike
many far poorer countries, the United States, as a nation, does NOT
provide funding for its athletes to take part in international training or the
competitions necessary to get to the Olympics. Often we do not see our
best athletes, we see our wealthiest.
Kaiya is currently number one in the nation at 63 kilos in the Cadet class,
making her part of an elite USA Judo team. These next 3 years are going
to require some intense competition both nationally and internationally.
Kaiya is one of 5 female Judoka from the US that have been chosen as
part of a team to compete in Japan’s open weight highschool nationals.
This is a huge honor. Winners of this tournament have gone on to win gold
on the world wide stage. We are currently seeking funding for this
tournament and the upcoming world championships.
Kaiya could not have accomplished what she has without your ongoing
support. We hope to be able to say,
“come and join us in LA in 2028 and
root on the Olympian you supported!”
We have partnered with a 501c3 and are always on the lookout for
businesses, private donors and corporations interested in donating and
could use the tax write off. Perhaps the company you work for has a
charitable giving program looking for recipients, we would be so grateful to
be considered.
If you can’t donate right now, believe me, we absolutely understand, if you
can, awesome!! We appreciate your support either way.
We value you more than you know!
As “one of the top up-and-coming athletes” per USA Judo, Kaiya has been
invited to compete in Prague, Czech Republic 7/5/9, followed by
attendance at a training camp from 7/7-7/9, then on to Paks, Hungary to
compete at the Paks European Cup. She will be in Chicago 6/19 to
compete and directly qualify for the Cadet World Championship, held in
Sofia, Bulgaria 8/27-31. She is scheduled to compete at the 6/25 Santo
Domingo Pan Am Open.
“Normal” US competition opportunities include
Junior Olympics (Chicago) 6/19, America’s Cup Judo Championship in
Honolulu prior to Japan trip 7/5, U.S. Open competition and training camp
(Florida) 7/23-30, Shogun Showdown 9/20, San Jose Open 10/3-5,
President’s Cup and Dallas Open (Texas) 11/20-23 and Winter Nationals
(So Cal) in December. With International travel costing 1500/flight per
person (Athlete, Coach and Mom as she is still a minor and not ready to
travel alone yet (soon!). The need is tremendous and every penny helps.
Having two disabled parents on SSDI makes “creative financing”
impossible. Every penny recently raised funded her competition in Peru
going directly to airfare (4049-), transportation and lodging (1820-). Not included- registration fees, backnumbers and seamstress charges, judogis, federation membership fees and food.
