I am Janelle Todd and I am Kaitlyn Gellerman's aunt. While recovering from a bad virus, Katie started having breathing problems, pain, and numbness all over which sent her to the ER. She was admitted to the hospital, and after 2 days of tests, Katie has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Guillain-Barre syndrome where the body attacks its own nerves and causes severe muscle weakness. The average cost of immunoglobulin infusions to treat this disease is $7,000 per infusion and she will need at least 5 infusions to help her start healing, as well as a lengthy hospital stay. We want to help Katie with her medical expenses from this sudden hospitalization, diagnosis, and treatment for Guillain-Barre syndrome Katie is getting married in 7 weeks and all of her and her fiancee Alex's savings have gone to pay for their wedding. She is going to be on disability from work for some time while she recovers and her health insurance has a high deductible/out of pocket.
