Help Kaitlyn Through Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
On Tuesday, my incredible daughter Kaitlyn (25) was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Gestational Trophoblastic Disease. She is now undergoing six months of intense chemotherapy at Charing Cross Hospital—one of only two hospitals in the UK that specialize in treating this disease.
Kaitlyn has built a life in Hastings with her young daughter. She is studying to become a nurse while working as a support worker for adults with disabilities, a role she is deeply passionate about. Last year, she was named South East Support Worker of the Year at the National Care Awards for her dedication to caring for others. Now, she is facing her own fight and needs our help.
Why We Need Your Support
While Kaitlyn’s cancer is 100% curable, the next six months will be incredibly tough, both physically and financially. To receive treatment, she must relocate to Essex while still maintaining her home in Hastings, where her daughter’s school, family, and support system are.
Unfortunately, due to her earnings, she won’t receive financial assistance for at least eight weeks, leaving her to cover expenses on her own.
Your donation will help with:
• Travel costs between Essex, London, and Hastings
• Rent and bills to keep her home stable for her daughter
• Wigs and essentials as she loses her hair during chemotherapy
• Extra costs of cancer treatment, such as specialist items to help her through side effects
Raising Awareness
When Kaitlyn first went to A&E, she was dismissed because there wasn’t enough awareness of this rare disease—even among medical professionals. Eventually she got the right tests and the hospital realised that there was something seriously wrong. She got transferred to Charing Cross as an emergency to start treatment. Now, under the care of specialists at Charing Cross, she is receiving the urgent treatment she needs.
By donating or sharing her story, you’re not only helping Kaitlyn but also raising awareness for Gestational Trophoblastic Disease, so more women and professionals have an understanding how serious this can be if left untreated or monitored. Only two hospitals in the country treat this type of cancer.
Our family is doing everything we can to support Kaitlyn, but the financial burden—along with the cost of travel to hospital and time off work—is overwhelming. Any help, no matter how small, is so gratefully received.
We are so grateful for any help you can give—every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support from the bottom of our hearts
