Help Kaitlyn Heal: A Community's Call

A young girl in our family and your community is in need of prayer, and her family needs your support.

Kaitlyn Francis is a 16 year old that is soon to be a junior at Frostproof Middle-Senior High School. A few years ago, she started exhibiting very concerning medical issues. After numerous procedures and countless visits to specialists across the state, it was discovered that Kaitlyn had a heart defect that affects only 2% of the population. She had a left aortic arch with a right aberrant subclavian artery causing a vascular ring around her esophagus. This affected her blood pressure, heart rate, ability to eat, and also caused severe anemia.

On Thursday, July 11th, Kaitlyn endured open heart surgery to correct the defect. The expected 6 hour surgery went on for 10 anxious hours. She was stable and did amazing throughout the surgery, but the procedure was more traumatic and invasive than expected. Doctors are now concerned about her lymphatic system and the trauma caused to her lungs. Because of this, Kaitlyn will spend much more time in the hospital than originally planned.

Kaitlyn's parents, Tim and Angela, are beloved business owners in our area of Polk County. Pure Shine Solutions LLC is their only source of income, and they are having to take a break from it right now in order to be there for their sweet daughter.
