My name is Melissa Goens. Many years ago, I met a wonderful couple with three handsome little boys and a beautiful newborn daughter. Kim and Chris Clements had just given birth to their first little girl, Kaitlyn. A new little sister for their young boys Ryan, Devin and Liam. The Clements family and my family attend the same Church and our children attended the same school. We have been through many changes together over the years. But something life changing happened 3 days ago to the Clements family. Kaitlyn Clements, only 15 years old, felt under the weather and her Dad took her to the urgent care doctor. Her bloodwork was concerning and she was sent to the Children's hospital by ambulance. To everyone's shock, Kaitlyn was diagnosed with Leukemia, specifically Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

The past three days alone have been a whirlwind of doctors, tests, and treatments. But Kaitlyn is strong and brave and keeps a positive attitude and a beautiful smile on her face.

The Clements family does everything for everyone else. They would give the shirts off their backs if you had no shirt. They work tirelessly for our community and they answer the call that we are all given to help our neighbors less fortunate than ourselves. From refugees and immigrants to the homeless in our city, they are there to help.

Now they need OUR help.

Just a general search in google will tell you that being in the hospital for one day can cost upwards of 12,000 dollars or more. Kaitlyn will be in the hospital for a month or more as she battles this vicious disease. I am asking for help for my friends. Chris and Kim need to be with their daughter night and day. The bills from the hospital will only add up and the costs of other bills will continue while their income will not.
