Help Kaitlin Kick Cancer-Take 2
Donation protected
Kaitlin Peltz, our now 17, still beautiful, comics author, crochet queen, cheerleader, all around amazing young lady and our superhero, first began her fight against Chondroblastic Osteosarcoma, bone cancer on April 15, 2019. If you are following her story, told mostly through her compassionate, quirky and solid father Jared, you may know what obstacles she is currently facing.
After a long journey with highs and lows, smiles and tears, big and small milestones, she rang that bell and we all rejoiced on Dec. 13, 2019! Cancer free! She was on her way! Kaitlin muscled through physical therapy to regain her strength back in her knee and she was getting stronger every day. No one wanted to think of anything more than a total conquering over this hideous thing called cancer.
On March 16, 2020 they were told her story involving this unwelcomed, awful cancer may not be over. Tests have confirmed Osteosarcoma on both of her lungs and a new tumor behind her knee replacement. Surgery was unable to remove the cancer off of her lungs and as such, chemo has started again. Plans for future surgeries are in the works. Kaitlin will remain on the current chemo plan as a hope that it will show progress in both it and her lungs. This will be months of new treatment. This has been worsened by a clot that has formed due to the pressure and swelling in her leg. As with before, the Peltz family is trying to face this new chapter head-on.
Throw in a pandemic, low immunity, treatment in a hospital where known and active patients are being treated, home chemotherapy treatment, and school being out, a quarantine takes on new meaning.
While Jared (dad) has been the only income, still working over the course of this journey, it is an honor to step in to help any way possible. A penny, a dime, a dollar. Nothing is too small or too large to lessen the burden and provide a bit of comfort and a handful of hope during this hard time.
Jared and Kimberly have two other phenomenal children at home who they are only hoping they can provide for fully, as well. If we think this pandemic has made us uncomfortable, Jared, Kimberly, Hagan, Kaitlin and Chloe have been separated on holidays, anniversaries, birthdays, you name it, for a year now. Times that should be a family together and full of celebration and firsts has had a wedge in between by this ugly disease.
As this is the second round, with its own set of challenges, we thank you for any amount you can donate that will help the Peltz family, and if you can't donate right now, please keep Kaitlin in prayer, and please share this fundraiser across social media. If you'd like to leave an encouraging word, or song, art, or story for Kaitlin, you can send that to [email redacted].
You got this, Kaitlin! Stay full of hope, strength and we believe you will defeat this once and for all! Your family and friends are cheering you on the entire way.
We also ask that you continue to lift Jared, Kimberly, Hagan and Chloe up as well for new energy, hope, strength, and anything they may feel they are lacking, to be given to them in abundance.
Thank you for your heart of compassion and generosity.
