From Cabo to Covid
A Birthday celebration that turned into a struggle to survive.
Spending my 50th birthday in Cabo with my closest friends seemed like a great idea! Covid cases were low and it was time to book our trip! As the dates got closer Covid cases started rising again. We still decided to go to celebrate a milestone. Our celebration was Amazing and we all had such a great trip!
The last day of our trip our group was tested for Covid-19. Out of 15 of us 3 of us tested positive. We then were not released and were put on a 10-14 day quarantine. Myself and my husband were able to stay together in the same room thankfully so we could care for each other. I was not feeling as sick as my husband so I was able to care for him. As the days went by he gradually got worse. The Covid had landed in his lungs and he was having difficulty breathing. He got to the point we needed to call 911. He was then transported to a local hospital. Since his stay in the hospital he has developed Pneumonia, and has been put on a ventilator. Our celebration turned to survival very quickly. The next step in our journey would be to get him transported back to the US once he is stable enough to do so. We are asking for any assistance possible from friends family and anyone who has been through a crisis like this. I understand we are not the only ones in crisis! We humbly ask. My husband is so dear and means a great deal to many! He is Mr Aloha, he would help anyone in need without question. We need him to return home to Hawai’i, to be surrounded by Ohana!!
Mahalo ke Akua! Mahalo Nui Loa!
