As a first-generation college student coming from a low-income background, getting accepted into USC was a life-changing moment. I’ve worked so hard to get here, fueled by a deep passion for storytelling and a desire to create films that reflect real, diverse experiences—especially for people who rarely see themselves on screen.

Right now, though, I’m facing a heartbreaking obstacle. I have a $6,000 balance that I need to pay in order to enroll for this upcoming semester. Despite exploring every option—applying for Sallie Mae, personal loans, and reaching out to family—nothing has come through.

My family has been going through an incredibly difficult season. We recently experienced a job loss and eviction, and while my parents are working hard to rebuild our stability (my dad is currently working two full-time jobs), we simply don’t have the funds to cover this balance on our own.

In the midst of all of this, I’ve been praying and asking God for strength, provision, and peace. I believe He opened the door for me to be at USC, and I’m trusting that He’ll make a way for me to continue. This has been one of the most testing moments of my life, but my faith reminds me that I’m not walking through it alone.

Being at USC means everything to me—not just for myself, but for the people I want to uplift through my work. I want to break generational barriers and use my voice and creativity to tell meaningful, honest stories that matter.
