Accomplishing my lifelong dream of becoming a doctor is just around the corner! I recently matched into OBGYN residency in Chicago, and in just two months, it will be time to make that 2,000 mile journey. As a medical student without income for the past four years, I've come to a financial challenge. Neither my medical school nor residency program are providing assistance with this transition. I'm so excited to finally have a job, but our official start date isn't until July 1st, meaning that first paycheck won't hit until the following month.

These funds will help with the rent and deposit for a new apartment that I'm hoping to sign a lease for next month, a Uhaul Pod to ship my things over, the cost of driving across the country, and expenses for moving with my dog and two cats. This journey has been a wild ride and the continuous support I've received from everyone has been incredible. There has been so much comfort in knowing that I have family and community all over the country rooting for me throughout this entire process.
