Hi everyone! I’m starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my niece, and we truly appreciate anyone taking the time to read more about her story. On April 15, 2025, Kailey Steapleton was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (grade 3) Stage 2 at just 29 years old. She has always felt strong and healthy, especially at this point in her life, and so to say this news was a shock is an understatement.

Kailey originally felt a movable lump in her breast back in Janurary of this year, which she brushed off for a couple of weeks, because the possibility of cancer seemed unimaginable at the time. With persistent symptoms, she went to a gynecologist, who misdiagnosed her as having a benign cyst. There was a lingering pain with this lump and so with a second opinion, she was ultimately diagnosed with breast cancer. Kailey is currently being treated through the University of Chicago Medicine, with completing her first round of chemotherapy last week. Phase 1 of treatment includes 12 weeks of chemotherapy and immunotherapy with evaluation for additional treatment and/or surgical plans to follow.

As treatment may be taxing on her body, she is not sure the extent as to how much she’ll be able to work, or what lies ahead. The amount of money donated will be put forth to her medical bills and any other unforeseen expenses. Any amount you’re willing to donate is greatly appreciated. Even if unable to donate, thoughts and prayers are more than enough. Kailey cannot be more grateful for the outpouring of support to those around her, and so thank you so much for helping her during this difficult time.
