Hi everyone, my niece Kailey Cahill has been in the hospital since 2/10/25. She went in with a horrible stomach ache, bloating, and not feeling her normal self. She was transferred to a children’s hospital in SC by ambulance in the early morning to get further testing done to see what was wrong. She underwent her first surgery where 1.1 liters of fluid was removed. After many tests (ultrasounds, biopsies, and MRI), they discovered Kailey had a 4lb cyst in her belly and 3-2 liter bottles of fluid that needed to be surgically removed. On Wednesday 2/26/25, she underwent her second surgery to have the cyst removed and the fluid taken out of her belly. She is now in recovery in the PICU, not too sure how long she will still be in recovery in the hospital.

With all that being said, my brother Brian and sister-in-law Kacey have been off work in the hospital attending to Kailey’s care with an 8-month-old baby at home, going back and forth to attend to their baby as well. They have both been out of work since 2/10/25 unpaid and are unable to apply for disability through the state as they just moved last July and have not been working at their jobs for a year yet. Hospital bills are a main concern and any amount of money donated to them would be more than greatly appreciated as they take the time off to get their baby girl healthy, out of the hospital, and home to be the normal active toddler that we all know she is!
