Kaileigh was diagnosed with a softball sized ovarian mass that has started invading her urinary tract and causing her major health issues, at the beginning of February. In that time she has been to the ER twice, has had 2 CT scans, 2 xrays, a PET scan and an ultrasound. She has had clinical visits with urologists, oncologists, and surgeons. She has had 2 surgical procedures, one in which she had a nephrostomy tube, allowing her blocked kidney to drain surgically placed and then a week later it was surgically removed and then a ureter stent was placed which has been extremely painful. Coming up she has a long and extensive surgery to remove the tumor and repair her urinary tract. During this time she has not been able to work, lift more than 5lbs, or stand/walk for long periods of time. While she does have health insurance, it has been denying coverage of her countless meds and procedures which they have been having to pay out of pocket for. With her upcoming surgery the hospital has also asked for her to pay a percentage of her extremely expensive surgery on the date of surgery.
