Help Kailee Huehn and her boys during this difficult time.

We are reaching out to all family and friends to help our cousin, Kailee during this difficult time.  Kailee is kind, generous, loyal, an excellent mother to her 3 boys and just an amazing human being.  Currently, she is living any parent's worse nightmare.  Her healthy 15 year old, Braiden suddenly became unwell over the past few weeks, and when he started having trouble breathing, Kailee took him to McMaster Children's Hospital.  The next day, he was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopothy and rushed to SickKids in Toronto for a life saving operation.  She was told that her eldest son's heart was failing and he would need a heart transplant.  On Thursday, Braiden underwent major heart surgery to have a ventricular assistive device implanted to keep his heart pumping until a donor heart is available.   We are heartbroken for Kailee and her boys.  Their lives are forever changed.

As a single mother, Kailee works hard to provide for her family, and with this sudden devastating medical emergency, her and Braiden will be spending lots of time at SickKids while other family members help care for her 2 other boys, Logan(14) and Jaxson(10).  With the constant worry over Braiden's health and the added stress of Logan and Jaxson's overall well being, the last thing Kailee needs to worry about is bills, food and childcare.  Luckily, we do live in Canada, where most of the medical costs are covered, but there are a lot of added expenses.   Frequent trips to and from Toronto, parking fees, nights staying in the hotel, an electrical inspection of her home to ensure Braiden's ventricular assistive device can be charged properly.  Kaillee will also have to purchase a clinical chemistry analyzer as well as test strips to monitor the medications in Braiden's blood.  Although her employer has been very generous, allowing Kailee to take any sick/personal days that are available to her, they will eventually run out and there will be extra, unexpected costs that will be necessary for Braiden to come home and keep him safe.
