My 6-month-old Doberman, Kai, experienced a sudden and severe medical emergency caused by a foreign body obstruction. By the time he reached the hospital, he was in critical condition, and the veterinary team told me there was a real chance he might not survive surgery.
During the operation, the surgeons had to remove nearly two feet of damaged intestine to save his life. Even after surgery, Kai’s condition remained extremely fragile. He required an emergency plasma transfusion, as his body was struggling to stabilize, and the doctors were uncertain he would make it through recovery.
Against the odds, Kai survived.
Today, I’m incredibly grateful to say that he is healing and doing much better. Choosing to move forward with treatment was not an easy decision, but I would make the same choice again without hesitation.
The total cost of this emergency care was almost $15,000, and while I’m deeply thankful for the outcome, the financial impact has been overwhelming and is something I’m still trying to recover from.
I’m asking for help recovering part of these costs so I can regain financial stability while continuing to support Kai’s care. Any contribution, no matter the amount, would mean so much. If donating isn’t possible, even sharing this privately is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read Kai’s story and for any kindness or support you’re able to offer. I know this is a difficult time for many people, so please don’t feel any pressure.
Any support, whether through a donation or a private share, truly helps and is deeply appreciated and means more than you know.
