Help Me Continue My Education at George Washington University

Hello! My name is Kai Porter, and I am currently attending George Washington University, studying Systems Engineering with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Through my hard work and academic achievements, I earned $92,525 in scholarships to help fund my education. However, despite this financial support, I still have a remaining balance of $1,562.50 per semester, along with the cost of textbooks and school supplies. I am asking for your support to help me continue my education and pursue my goals.

I was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, where I learned the importance of community and supporting one another. Growing up, I often heard the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child." For a long time, I believed that hard work and determination alone could get me anywhere. However, my experiences taught me that success is also made possible by the people who believe in us.

After entering the foster care system at a young age, I was fortunate enough to be adopted into a loving family. I also found a second family through my school community, where teachers, mentors, and friends supported me through life's challenges. With their encouragement, I became an honors student throughout high school and graduated among the top of my class.

Today, I carry those lessons with me as I work toward becoming a Systems Engineer and developing my technology business. My goal is to create innovative hardware and software solutions that improve people's lives while eventually expanding into systems engineering consulting.

Beyond building a successful business, I want to use technology to give back to underserved communities by making resources, opportunities, and infrastructure more accessible. I believe that someone's financial situation should never determine their ability to succeed or live a better life.

Just as my family and community helped me overcome challenges and reach opportunities I once could only imagine, I hope to one day provide that same support to others.
