Gender-Affirming Care: Help Kai Join The No-Titty Committee!

Hi! I’m Kai! I’m non-binary transmasc and 41 years old and I need your help to get top surgery.

My chest dysphoria is progressively getting worse. I can’t wear binders because I get panic attack from my chest being that compressed so I rely on tight sports bras and trans tape whenever I can stand it. I’ve finally figure out how to minimise skin damage (allergic reactions, blisters, tears, etc.) when taping, but it still means having to take breaks from taping and wear a bra. And those days are more and more hellish thanks to crippling dysphoria and I try to tape more and more.

I swear, on days where I can tape, my eyes light up different.

But taping is not a long-term solution. It’s itchy and uncomfortable and painful every time. Also, the KT tape itself, the barrier spray to protect my skin, adhesive remover, etc. add up.

Why saving up has been difficult

I’ve been trying to save up. I’m actually very good at saving money but the past 5 years life has repeatedly kicked my partner and me in the teeth, financially speaking. So our savings have been fairly depleted. Furthermore, I’ve not been able to find work since summer 2023 because my industry (tech) is a heaping dumpster fire.

I’m working on ways to earn money again, even considering going back to school to become a therapist, and I volunteer at a humanitarian aid org. I’m by no means idle, I just can’t get a proper income at this point. My partner can keep us going day-to-day but, like I said, there’s not much we can put aside and since they’re trans as well we have two top surgeries to save up for.

We have recently moved to Spain where top surgery can be accessed fairly easily privately but it still doesn’t come cheap. So, I’m doing what learning to code and working in humanitarian aid have both taught me is the right thing to do: I’m asking for help. I have come to accept that this is necessary if I want to live fully instead of just barely existing, trying to constantly hide my body and causing pain and skin damage. How you can help

I started this fundraiser because I moved country and GoFundMe won’t let you change the location. I was 39 when I started the original campaign and raised 3k with it, so I have adjusted the goal of this one accordingly.

Thanks to people’s kindness we’ve already made it a decent way towards my goal with a previous fundraiser, but this has been over the course of almost 2 whole years and there’s still some way to go.

So if you can comfortably afford to contribute, please do. If you can’t, then I understand. I really do. I’ve not been able to give to many mutual aid funds lately either. But either way, I would like to ask you to please share my link with others.
