UPDATE#2
We heard from WSU Veterinary Hospital, they got the pathology back. Kaimana “Kai” won't need chemo or radiation! Just meds for life and bi yearly chest X-rays!!! He has another doctor soon. Thank you so much for your kind support and prayers!!
UPDATE story and photos: Kaimana “Kai” is out of surgery and doing really well. The surgeon said it went as best as it possibly could. She thinks they got all of the tumor and didn't see that it was spreading into the surrounding tissue. She also said they felt good about the lymph nodes and didn't have to take any. The staff at WSU Veterinary Hospital have all fallen in love with him too! We are so grateful to this amazing staff! Kai is now home and recovering as of today. It should take him about two weeks. Thank you all so much for the prayers, love and your kind donations. We will keep you posted as updates become available but this is all we know for now. Thank you!
Hello! My name is Pamela. I am helping Lynne raise money for our school's emotional support dog. Meet Kaimana “Kai”, who provides endless love, companionship, comfort, and emotional relief through his presence to high school students who need the support. He is a hard worker that provides unconditional love and support. He is our beautiful and precious four-legged best friend! Kai is loved by all who cross his path. He is very intelligent and has a keen sense when something is not quite right and will immediately come to your aid. Kai just makes everyone feel better! He has been with a group of high school students for several years, and he recently turned 5. We can’t imagine an environment without him. He truly helps so many. Now we want to return the favor and help him.
Our sweet, kind, and lovable Kai has a challenge in front of him, and we are asking for help to fund his operation to remove a cancerous tumor on his thyroid. Please send your thoughts and prayers and, if you can, a GoFundMe donation to help with expenses for his surgery that will take place on June 25th at WSU Veterinary Hospital in Pullman, Washington.
His caregiver, Lynne, high school staff, students, and friends would be ever so grateful. If you know Kai personally and leave a comment, please don’t disclose his work location or district to help protect him and our efforts. We would really appreciate that.
We love you, Kai!❤️
