Kaden, forever our “baby” boy. A complete menace from the start— getting into everything, jumping or literally climbing over any barrier meant to keep him contained. But we love him for every bit of his sassy personality. Absolutely loves to rest his head on pillows and cuddle on the softest of blankies. Introverted & anxious like mom, though he has softened over the years. Not a fan of new people, unless they give him lots of cheese and once you’re in with him, he’ll keep going back for lovies (and more treats).
For those who have known Kaden, he will have definitely made a big impression. We celebrated his 17th birthday earlier this year and with his medical history, it’s exceeded our expectations. Thankful for the extra time we’ve had the past 5 years working from home and grateful that he’s gotten to have a big backyard and autonomy to be outside when he wants. His favorite activity was relaxing in the sun, especially if there’s a little breeze, and our hope is to have that be how he has his final rest.
Recently his health has declined to the point where he is unable to do things himself and his quality of life has suffered. With this we are faced with some high costs, while also struggling financially otherwise ourselves. It’s hard to ask for help, but no matter what we will ensure that Kaden can have a peaceful, respectful, and thoughtful passing. We will be using Lap of Love, an at-home service, to facilitate Kaden’s end-of-life care and we are unsure if we will need to take off work to care for Kaden in his final days.
Thank you endlessly for any support or contribution you are able to provide, it means more than we could possibly say.
