Howdy everyone! My name is Kadence and I’m a 7th grader who lives in San Diego, California. Every year, my school holds a trip hosted by EF Tours and this year they are hosting one to Japan! If I were to go on the trip I’d earn college credit, a new understanding of the culture, and I’d experience many more fun activities over the course of 9 days.
Now, the issue me and my family have is with the cost of this trip.
This trip costs $4659 USD, which is out of our budget. I hope this fundraiser could help lower the cost or even cover the trip! All funds are directly going to the trip and the trip only.
The reasons I’m very passionate about this trip is because I’ve been influenced by Japanese culture and pop culture ever since I was young and because I’ve never left the country. This is mostly because I’m lucky enough to live in the US, which is a melting pot of cultures (Which is what my mom likes to call it!). It's something that shaped my childhood and artistic view as an aspiring artist. The trip will help me and others learn more about the cultures that are just across the Pacific!
Another reason is due to my late uncle's connection with Japanese media and culture as well. My uncle passed away recently due to complications with diabetes. He and I were very close and it’s hitting my family pretty hard. His favorite Ghibli Film was Howl's Moving Castle and he supported my nerdy interests because he was just like me. I believe he’d want me to be going on this trip.
