Help Kadan as he Wrestles with Osteosarcoma

Donation protected

Recently, Kadan Williams, a rising 9th grade wrestler at Elbert County High School in Elberton, Georgia was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. Kadan has been attending youth camps since he was younger and has wrestled all through middle school. Kadan is the son of Michael and Katie Williams. Michael is a CTAE teacher at ECCHS and a football coach for the high school (also a former wrestler and football player at Elbert County High School).

On June 10th, Kadan was attending a wrestling camp with our team at Jefferson high school to prepare for his upcoming freshman season. During camp Kadan injured his leg. We initially thought he may have hurt his knee, so we gave him ice, and had him rest until we got back to the school. Later that evening, he could barely stand on his leg so his dad decided to take him to urgent care. At urgent care, it was found that he had actually fractured his femur. His dad called me the next day to let me know of Kadan's injury and that Kadan was upset that he wouldn't be able to finish summer workouts. After the initial diagnosis of a fractured femur, Kadan underwent an MRI that detected a mass on his femur. It was at this point that Kadan was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (Bone Cancer)! Thankfully injuring his leg during wrestling camp allowed for an early diagnosis of his cancer and so far it is confined to the one spot on his femur.

Kadan recently had a port put in place and started his first chemo treatment on July 9th at 8pm. Kadan will have to endure almost 30 weeks of treatments. On week 10 he will have surgery on the tumor in his femur. This will be a long process that will take an emotional and financial toll on Kadan and his family.

Kadan will be traveling back and forth from Elberton, Ga to Scottish Rite Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for treatments along with staying at the hospital for 2-3 days during treatments each week. His parents will have to rotate taking him for treatments which will cause them to miss time from work.

During this time we ask that you pray for Kadan's healing and if you are able to give financially it would be very much appreciated!
