Late one night after another long shift managing a local restaurant in Pateros, WA, Kacy Hough’s life took an unexpected turn. Her car — her only mode of transportation and a lifeline for her and her child — was totaled in a crash caused by another driver who never took responsibility. The driver that caused the wreck did not have good insurance and has left Kacy owing a large amount on her car that is no longer useable. Kacy has had to keep paying these payments and trying to save up for a car. With the help of some amazing people Kacy did find a used older car for now but knows that she will have to get a more reliable car soon. As a single, hardworking mother who gives her all to her job and her community, Kacy now finds herself facing mounting debt.

Kacy is the kind of person who shows up — for her coworkers, her customers, and her neighbors. She’s built a life rooted in resilience and kindness, and now she needs our help to get back on her feet.
