Kach is an 7.5-year-old, incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than belly rubs, cat. About a year and a half ago, she was diagnosed with diabetes, and it’s been a challenging journey ever since. Despite our best efforts, her glucose levels have remained difficult to regulate. On Monday night, things took a turn for the worse—she was admitted to the emergency hospital for diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), a life-threatening complication. (Update 3/19 - she has been discharged from the hospital).
We do everything we can to help Kach manage her diabetes. We meal prep her food, carefully measuring out the grams and feeding her on a strict schedule. We’ve visited the vet multiple times each year, and just started seeing an internist this year. Each visit brings new tests and treatments that add up quickly. We’re working closely with the internist to try to pinpoint why her glucose is still not regulated. The funds raised here will go directly toward her hospital bills, ongoing medication, and the specialist care she needs to get better. Every bit of support will help us continue fighting for her health and give her the best chance at recovery.
Thank you so much for caring and considering a donation to help Kach. Your kindness and support mean the world to us during this difficult time.
