Hi everyone, my name is Kacey. If you know me, you know I’m not someone who ever asks for help. I’ve always been very independent and worked hard for everything I have. But after six long years of pain, doctor visits, and trying everything under the sun to help myself — I’ve finally reached the point where surgery is my only option.
For the past six years, I’ve been struggling with a severe bow leg that has caused constant pain and damage to my right knee. I’ve done absolutely everything to try and avoid surgery — exercising daily, stretching, losing weight, staying active, and doing every home remedy I could find. I’ve truly fought with everything I had to fix it on my own. Unfortunately, all that effort hasn’t been enough. My knee is now bone-on-bone, with three bone spurs, a ruptured Baker’s cyst, and major arthritis. Every step hurts. Standing for long periods is brutal. Some days, even simple tasks are a struggle. But I’ve continued to push through because I’ve had no other choice.
I’m creating this GoFundMe to help cover my portion of the surgery cost, as well as bills and living expenses while I recover and can’t work. This surgery will give me my life back—a chance to walk straight, live without constant pain, and finally move forward after years of fighting this battle alone. I will continue to work until I can afford this surgery because I can’t give up. It takes a lot for me to ask for help, but I can’t do this one by myself. If you’re able to donate or even just share my story, I would be beyond grateful. Every little bit truly makes a difference.
Now, my doctor says it’s time for a total knee replacement. The surgery is scheduled for December 4th, right before the holidays and my son’s birthday in January. I’ll be out of work for 6–8 weeks, and my husband is currently between jobs, which makes this timing especially hard. We’re doing our best to get by, but with rising expenses and a pay gap, we need help to cover the cost of surgery and living expenses while I recover. Asking for support isn’t easy, but I know this surgery will give me my life back—a chance to walk straight, live without pain, and finally enjoy the everyday moments I’ve missed.
I’m most looking forward to being able to stand in the kitchen and cook dinner, do housework, and get back to yardwork and blowing leaves—things I haven’t been able to do in over a year. Most of all, I want to create new memories with my son, like going on vacations and sharing experiences together without being held back by pain. Any support, whether through donations or sharing my story, would mean the world to me and my family. Thank you for helping me take this step toward a pain-free future. All of the funding will go straight towards my surgery that cost $6000 total. Plus $890 for the nerve blocker shot that I need to receive before surgery and I am truly grateful to everyone who has looked out for me in return. Words cannot express how thankful I am. Whether it was a dollar or more I appreciate it even sharing thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart.
