Kermit “K2” Gibson has spent his life serving others, both as a two-tour Vietnam veteran and as the heart of the Grand Strand Miracle League. For more than 25 years, he has been the head coach, helping hundreds of children with special needs experience the joy of baseball. His dedication to his country and his community is unmatched, earning him the Purple Heart and leaving him with service-connected disabilities that have made him 100% disabled and reliant on a wheelchair.
Now, K2 needs our help. He lives in a small HOA community where the neighborhood swimming pool could provide him with valuable exercise, pain relief, and water therapy. Unfortunately, the pool does not have wheelchair-accessible entry, and our community does not have the resources to fund the improvements needed. We’re raising money to purchase accessible portable pool equipment so K2 can safely enjoy the same community amenity as everyone else. Any funds raised beyond the cost of the project will be used for future accessibility improvements or donated to organizations that support disabled veterans, with full transparency.
For decades, K2 has dedicated his life to serving others—first his country, then children with disabilities. Now it’s our turn to serve him. Please consider donating and sharing his story. Together, we can give back to a man who has spent a lifetime giving to others.
