Our dear friend K needs some help.

In April 2022, K started having trouble breathing while doing her normal everyday activities. This got progressively worse over the course of a week, and she found herself rushing to the hospital once the breathing trouble was accompanied by significant chest pain. The doctors found that she had multiple large blood clots in both her lungs- caused by a previously undiagnosed genetic disorder, catalyzed by her new birth control.

Since spending that week in the hospital, K has been in and out of doctor’s appointments trying to discern her diagnosis. These doctor's appointments are both to make sure the clots are healing properly, and to learn about the long term implications of her newly diagnosed genetic disorder. She has had persistent heart trouble and is working closely with a cardiologist team to try and figure out the root of the issue as well as a treatment plan. She continues to be low energy and not able to be on her feet for long - and is looking towards continued appointments the rest of the year and beyond.

The K we all know and love has kept her spirits high, but these medical bills have absolutely depleted her and Jake’s savings. She is in need of $10,000 to cover these bills. Yes, this is a lot of money so we ask that you give whatever you can either financially, or through a written note, prayer, good vibes, an act of service, a funny gif sent over text, etc. Every little bit of kindness helps!

I'm Sarah Omicioli- K was my college roommate, and is still one of my dear friends. All the funds raised here will go directly towards K's medical bills from this year.
