Help K & K Farms Rebuild After Devastating Fire

Donation protected
Last night, disaster struck K & K Farms and the Dillon Brothers, owned by my lifelong friend Karen Kennedy and her family. Around 4:00 am, with temperatures near zero, Karen and her daughter looked out the window and saw flames inside their barn. They rushed outside in their nightgowns and coats, but the upper barn and roof were already engulfed in fire. Despite their efforts, they could only save three horses, the donkey, the potbelly pigs, a mom goat and her baby, and Oscar the Ostrich with his goats. The fire department arrived but couldn't start pumping water for half an hour, and the barn burned to the ground. Tragically, six horses, one pony, ten pet goats, and about fifty show chickens were lost in the fire.

The loss is overwhelming. The barn, all buckets, tack, horse blankets, and farm equipment were destroyed. The surviving animals still need shelter, medical attention, and food. The local Tractor Supply company generously donated two horse blankets, but so much more is needed to care for the animals and begin rebuilding what was lost. Karen and her family are facing an unimaginable challenge, and every bit of help will make a difference.

This tragedy has been covered by local news outlets, highlighting the scale of the loss and the impact on our community. You can read more about what happened here:

Karen has always been there for others—she's helped so many people in her life, and now I want to give others the chance to help her through this tragedy. Any support, whether it's a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser, would mean the world to her and the farm. Thank you for caring and for standing with K & K Farms and the Dillon Brothers in their time of need.
