Hi, my name is K'. I'm a black, GNC, trans sw'er and I need help to continue to live. In 2019 I moved to the 'burgh in order to pursue a new life. I can honestly say that moving across the country to somewhere that provides better trans care and starting my transition were the most significant decisions I've ever made. I honestly didn't know what living was before. For the first time, I find myself wanting to continue to live. Unfortunately, my lease is up during the same month I'll be having facial feminization surgery. I could use your assistance in making ends meet during these difficult months of recovery.

 

I've noticed a depressing yet all-too-common trend where black trans sw'ers who are within arm's reach of attaining life-saving medical surgeries tend to struggle to ask for outside assistance. It's truly a sad state of being marginalized thrice over, as black, trans, and as a woman, that leaves us as one of, if not the least, protected groups in America.
