My son, Justin, was in a motorcycle accident this week when a car he was passing decided to turn left in front of him without any warning. I am grateful he is alive, but he has a long road of recovery ahead of him.
He has seven broken ribs, a broken collarbone, two cracked vertebrae, a skull fracture, and a lung that was collapsing. He will need to wear a cervical collar, and his arm will be in a sling for the next few months. He is the sole provider for his wife and two kids, as his wife is in school with six months left till graduation. He will be unable to work for the next few months and is living off retirement, which does not cover the household bills.
He is a veteran, retiring last year after 21 years in the United States Air Force. His current employer does not offer any type of short-term disability. They just need a little help to get through the holidays and the next couple of months. If you are able to give, please do, and if you are unable to give, I understand, but ask that you say a prayer for a speedy recovery for him. God Bless and Happy Holidays.
