Hello, my name is Justine. I am the little sister of a very strong, caring, and independent older brother. I am coming on here as a last resort for helping pay for my brother's medical expenses.

This all started on October 24th, 2017. This was the day that changed me and my family's life. We had gotten a call that night from the EMTs stating my brother had a seizure. My mom, my grandma, and I were in disbelief. He was just a normal, healthy kid. How could something so drastic happen? So we headed to the hospital, and that same week, he had emergency surgery on a brain tumor. My immediate family and I were just in disbelief at how something so life-changing could happen to a young kid who had just turned 21 years old. It was such a devastating event in our lives, and since then, it's been a constant battle with non-stop hospital visits, neuro appointments, feeling sick, and so on. While having to deal with these hospital visits and the stress of hoping and praying everything will work out in the end trying to keep our faith my grandma unfortunately passed away Christmas Eve of 2022 my brother was our grandmas pride and joy of the family so losing her hurt my entire family's heart but specifically my brother that was his best friend they would always sing together and dance to their Tejano music this really affected my brother my brother he went from having no change in the brain with "okay MRIs" to "we need to try radiation, the tumor is growing back again." He did rounds of radiation, and for what seemed to work for a while, it has yet again come back. Currently, in October 2025, my brother has just marked 9 years, still struggling with this tumor, but now, more complications have arisen. To find out in his birthday month, he not only has a tumor grown back, but he will have to undergo a third surgery. It is a very frustrating thing to go through as a family. This has taken a huge toll on our mother. She herself is a very strong, very independent woman. She is definitely the backbone of our family, but me being in college and trying to work, doing what I can at 20 years old, it's a lot. Even with insurance covering stuff for my brother, medical expenses are just a lot. Having to go 9 years by my brother's side while trying to get a degree has taken a toll on my mental health, along with my mother's, and I can imagine how devastating it is for my brother to have to be the one to go through it. I'm creating this GoFundMe account to raise money for his previous medical expenses and the ones that are occurring now to help take the stress, even just a bit, off my mom and brother. The stress has become so much for him to handle. The remaining funds that are left after covering medical expenses will go towards Head for the Cure, which is a Foundation that has been keeping in touch with my brother anything helps.
