Hi my name is Lee and I’m running a fund raiser for my life long friend Justine who has been chronically ill for 3 yrs now. Last year after 100s of tests she found out that she is positive for Lyme disease along with several co infections (bartonella, bababesia, lead and arsenic toxicity). Justine has been to a multitude of doctors all around Chicago and other areas of Illinois. She has attempted many treatments since getting the diagnosis but none have gotten her into remission for the Lyme.

We are raising funds to send her to a specialist in WI for 3 days, plus a follow up treatment 3 months later. Like many doctors insurance does not cover the cost or stay.

Justine has had many ongoing symptoms disabling her from work, time with her husband and kids, missing out on so many things. I have watched my best friend’s life deteriorate, held her hand as she feared she was not going to make it through some of the worst days. I have cried and prayed for her for so long.

Anyone that knows justine knows she’s extremely family oriented and she thrives off being able to enjoy time and fun with her kids. Prior to getting sick she hadn’t been without a job since she was 15. She has always supported herself and more often than not the people she calls family have relied heavily upon her physically and/or financially for assistance to them because she was always willing to help (including me!) All this came toppling down on her and her husband Mitchell in 2021, while Mitchell was off work recovering from 2 major surgeries, that kept him from working for nearly 2 years.

The medical world does not allow substantial financial help for people, even with insurance. The insurance barely pays out what is needed for remission for Lyme because it’s so complicated to tackle. Most of the treatments for chronic Lyme, including supplements aren't covered at all by insurance benefits. There isn’t nearly enough information out there about Lyme and treatment. Unfortunately no two cases of Lyme disease are the same due to Lyme weakening the body and the immune system.

We are praying this doctor in Wisconsin will be able to treat the sub infections, and get Justine to remission. I would love to see my best friend thrive again, to see her full of joy again. Please help her fight against this and succeed remission.
