On Wednesday, October 22, 2025 Justine and her family and friends were proudly celebrating her daughter's Senior Night and watching her daughter play flag football with her team at her home stadium. In the last 5 minutes of the last game that night, a verbal altercation was instigated by a stranger causing multiple people to begin getting loud. Justine was trying to remove her 4 year old nephew from the situation, as he had been pushed against a fence by the aggressor and had began crying. While the aggressor and his brother continued to exchange words with the other parties, Justine attempted to remove the child from the immediate area. The aggressor then turned around and pushed her onto the bleachers 3 different times causing her to fall. Due to the fall, her left wrist was broken and she got an AC separation in her right shoulder. Even through the pain, she managed to remove the child from the scene before he was hurt more.

Now, she's facing surgery in both her wrist and shoulder, at least 2-3 months out of work, and countless hours of rehabilitation, pain and suffering.

As someone who's prided herself on working 2-3 jobs, helping to take care of her family and pets, and her fierce independence... She's now in a position where she has to depend on her wife, Lyn, to do the basic tasks for her such as eating, drinking, showering and dressing her. She will not be able to return to work anytime soon. Her wife now has the responsibility of working her 2 jobs, caring for their daughter, dogs, finances and Justine's appointments and recovery during and after surgery. They've just moved into a new apartment with enough space for them and their dogs are now facing immediate financial difficulties due to this intentional act of aggression by a stranger. Any and all help would go towards medical bills, medication, and basic necessities to help keep them afloat.
