Hi, I’m Justine!
I am a Black and Lakota Denver Native. I recently graduated high school and I will be attending Colorado State University in the fall of 2025. As a first-generation student, I am extremely proud of this accomplishment of being admitted into a prestigious university. My hard work, dedication, professionalism, and gratitude have gotten me to this point, but I need your help!
I come from poverty and I have lived on federal assistance programs for most of my life. Even though I qualify for the full federal Pell Grant (FAFSA), I am still in a position where I will have to pay a large sum of money out of pocket for my cost of attendance.
I like making art! I have the honor to say I have painted three murals around the Denver Metro area as an art intern for a competitive internship program, Arts Street, within the local community. I was even featured on Great Day Colorado to showcase the work I have done. I have been playing piano since I was 10 (self-taught). I love nature, dancing, laughing, and outdoor activities.
This is a huge step I am taking and being a first-generation student, I am not able to get the support I need from my family because this journey is new to them as well. However, they have done everything they could to help me get to this point. I am asking you to fund my journey to higher education, so that I can be the first in my family to attain a Bachelor’s Degree.
With Gratitude,
Justine Tipton
