Justin’s Story: A Young Man Fighting for His Life — and the Future He Deserves
My name is Mandy, and I’m writing this as a mother — one whose heart is breaking every day watching her son fight for his life. My son Justin is just 25 years old. He’s soft-spoken, kind, and was just starting out on his own in life when everything turned upside down. He now lives with end-stage renal failure, and he is on dialysis every single day to stay alive. It’s painful. It’s exhausting. And it’s his reality — every single day. Justin has a rare, incurable kidney disease called proliferative glomerulonephritis with monoclonal deposits. Even with a transplant, this disease almost always returns — usually within just two years. That means Justin will likely need more than one transplant in his lifetime: one now, another by age 40, and possibly another later if he’s fortunate enough to live that long. Right now, we’re working toward his first transplant, but it has to be a perfect match. His doctors say that’s the only way to give him the best chance of long-term success. On top of this, Justin is severely anemic — his body cannot make enough red blood cells, which leaves him weak and vulnerable. And every day, this 25-year-old young man has to take 15 different medications just to keep his body functioning. Fifteen. That’s so much for someone so young. As his mother, I can’t describe the pain of watching your child go through this, knowing there’s only so much you can do. And now, we’re running out of time. In just 8 months, Justin’s insurance will end. Without it, he won’t be able to afford the dialysis, medications, transplant, or ongoing treatment he needs to survive. We are doing everything we can, but we simply can’t do this alone. We are raising money to help cover: • Daily dialysis treatments • Transplant-related testing, surgery, travel, and recovery • His 15 daily medications • Ongoing treatment for his rare, chronic disease • Basic living costs while he is unable to work If you can give, no matter how small, it will help us move one step closer to keeping Justin alive. And if you can’t give right now, please share his story. Every prayer, every share, every kind word — it all matters. Donations can be sent via Cash App to: $fundraising4sonJS (Or you can reach out to us directly at [phone redacted] for other ways to help.) From the bottom of our hearts — thank you. Thank you for caring. Thank you for praying. And thank you for believing that Justin’s life is worth fighting for. With love, faith, and endless gratitude, Mandy – Justin’s Mom
