Hi, my name is Justin Briley. The last few months have been the hardest of my life. After a painful divorce, the loss of my job, and a severe knee injury, I found myself homeless and living out of my car.

Recently, I was finally able to move back into my vacant 95-year-old house, but I’ve returned to a home that is currently unlivable.

Right now, I am essentially squatting in my own house. An upstairs electrical short-circuit nearly burned the place down, so I’m surviving by running extension cords from my detached shop just to have basic power. On top of that, 90% of my belongings had to be thrown into the yard due to a severe bedbug infestation, and the debris is still waiting to be hauled away.

The good news is that the roof and exterior are solid, and I have an amazing group of friends—including skilled plumbers and electricians—who are stepping up to help me. My long-term goal is to take the house down to the studs and remodel it myself over the next few years.

But right now, I just need to make it safe and livable so I can recover and get back on my feet. Because my friends are generously donating their labor, I only need help covering the hard costs. The funds raised here will go directly toward:

Renting a dumpster to clear the ruined belongings and debris from my yard.

Purchasing the essential electrical and plumbing supplies needed to make the house safe and functional.

I am incredibly grateful for the friends who have kept me going during this dark time. Asking for help isn't easy, but I would be deeply thankful for any contribution—no matter how small—to help us get the supplies we need to rebuild my home and my life.
