Help Justin Overcome Critical Health Crisis

On Sunday, April 13 we took Justin to the Rice Lake ER because he had been up all night and throwing up blood. They immediately tested his blood sugar which read “high” which the monitor reads up to 600. Later labs showed Justin’s blood sugar was 606.
While in the ER Justin’s heart rate increased to over 200 bpm, and went into v tach. They were very close to having to shock him but were able to get his heart back into a regular rhythm with medications.
Because of the situation with high blood sugar, heart rate and high blood pressure they determined that they needed to transfer Justin to an ICU and the best option was to life flight him. The only bed available was in Marshfield. The biggest question was do they sedate him and intubate him for the flight so they didn’t have to do it in the air or did they think he could make the flight (40 minutes) safely awake? They decided to try to do the flight without intubation and prepped him for takeoff.
The flight went well and he made it safely to Marshfield and was in ICU Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. Tuesday, April 15 Justin was moved to a MedSurge room as his eating and sugars improved-his blood pressure still high and sugars elevated and heart rate being monitored.
