Help Justin Lazor Recover from a Medical Emergency
Donation protected
On July 1st Justin Lazor was admitted to the ICU at Fairview Hospital. He was found unresponsive in his apartment, and it’s unclear how long he was incapacitated. He’s been on oxygen and a feeding tube ever since, and has difficulty recognizing his friends and loved ones. As of now, he’s been diagnosed with nerve and gastrointestinal disorders and transferred to a long term care facility in Middleburg Heights.
Justin, a local playwright, is also a college adjunct which means he has no health insurance and no job security. Even when he recovers, he will face substantial medical bills, rent, and unforeseen expenses. Due to the nature of his illness, we are anticipating he will have a long road to recovery and will not be able to work for some time. So we are asking for friends in the community to support him on this journey in any way they can.
Many of you may know Justin as a creative and compassionate member of the Cleveland Literary community. He is a regular writer for convergence-continuum, Playwrights Local, and several short independent films. He has played a strong role in the First Year Writing program at Cleveland State University and has overseen care for his elderly mother.
As Justin recovers from this unthinkable illness and prolonged ICU stay, it’s important that he be able to put his health and well-being first. That is why we are reaching out to the community to ask for donations to ensure that he is able to stay focused on his recovery.
